DUDLEY Kingswinford runners were out in force this week contesting races around the country.

The blue and white hoops swamped the Walsall Arboretum Parkrun which proved a marital triumph for Jonathan and Hannah Pearce who led the DKs home in both the men's and women's categories.

The DKs also descended on Enville Hall for the Sheepwalks Shocker 10km where veteran Dirk Baynham knocked two minutes off his personal best time.

Jennie Fletcher and Justine Hammond contested the Alcester 10km, where Jennie clocked a pleasing 53 mins and 7 secs, while over at Sutton Park, Rebecca Withers took part in the Midland Mencap 10km while Ian Harris was busy completing the tough Brown Clee Burn 11 km over the South Shropshire Hills.

Kathryn Purslow and Alison Thorneycroft ran the furthest distance in the Chester Metric Marathon over 16.3 miles, while Kevin Herbert and Aimee Pugh took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon with Kevin coming home in one hour and 39 mins.

Sandeep Kaur also had cause to celebrate when clocking his best ever time in the Wolverhampton Parkrun when timed at 29mins 43secs.

Based at Dudley Kingswinford, the club meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm plus Sunday at 8am when they cater for runners at all levels.
