Newcomers Blades FC boosted their hopes of end of season Beacon Sunday league honours with a resounding win over basement side Gunmakers Arms.

In this latest Concentric Sales & Lettings Championship encounter, Blades hit Gunmakers 8-0, writes Dave McLean.

On a day when this was the sole fixture  Blades cut through Gunmakers early on to take a deserved 3-0 advantage at the interval.

Blades continued to dictate in the second half and blasted five more goals to push their league seasonal tally to 45, the highest in the top tier.

Inflicting the damage were Jack Hill and Josh Cole with doubles, supported by Connor Potts, Alex Clarke, Daniel Marsh and Ray Ward.

Dates for this season's Beacon league finals have been confirmed and they include a double header.

Five finals, all at AFC Wulrunians ground, Castlecroft, are scheduled and kick off with the league's flagship NDT Midlands sponsored Lester Charity Cup clash on Thursday, April 28 (7.45pm).

Earlier this month, finalists Widdas FC and Trysull Athletic secured their cup final tickets with respective victories over Dudley Rangers United and AFC Bloxwich. 

The clash will be followed, on Wednesday, May 4 (7.45pm), by the Clinton Cup final, sponsored by The Sports Shop, Kingswinford.

On May 8, two Beacon games will be staged, starting with the Martyn Chell Cup final, sponsored by Wilkes Tranter Accountants (2pm). After that is decided, the Cater Cup final, sponsored by 353 Photography, will go ahead at the same venue with a 6.30pm kick off.

This season's Beacon Cup final programme will close on Wednesday, May 11 (7.45pm) with the staging of the Roger Brindley Memorial Cup. This is competed for by the the league's over-30 teams.

Final pairings are still to be confirmed in the other four Cup competitions, with semi-finals of the Clinton Cup being played this Sunday (April 24). AFC Goldthorne take on Kewford Eagles, with Wombourne Athletic facing Hagley United.
