LYE Town have continued to strength their squad as they look to progress during their first season in the Premier Division of the Midland Football League.

Boss Martin Thomas has added Billy Russell from Bromsgrove and Tom Overfield and Max Bissell, who were both with Tividale last season.

After winning the first game of the season, Lye have since lost back-to-back away games.

They suffered a 4-0 defeat against Westfields last Tuesday after going down to ten men in the first half and then lost a hard-fought encounter 3-1 against Loughborough University last Saturday.

Ricky Anslow equalised against Loughborough before two goals in the last ten minutes left Lye empty handed.

Thomas said: "We have won one and lost two and I think we have done reasonably well so far.

"The games have been difficult but our main aim is to still be in this division next season.

"We brought in quite a few new players for this season but we are still keen to add more. The three that have joined us this week will hopefully be added to because I think things still need freshening up."

Lye travel to Stourport Swifts this Saturday in the FA Cup before returning to league action when taking on Brocton away next Tuesday.
