MAGNIFICENT McKauley Manning hit home a high quality hat-trick as Halesowen overwhelmed Southern League rivals Alvechurch.

The margin of victory could have been much more but Yeltz striker Miracle Okafor missed a string of chances to have put the result out of sight before half time.

Manning opened his account on nine minutes when he swept home a Jack Holmes cross.

Okafor then sent Manning clear for a second goal on 37 minutes despite squandering a string of his own chances, the best of which  was a free header fired wide with the goal at his mercy on the half hour mark.

Full back Reece Mitchell then smashed home a third goal on 50 minutes which appeared to knock the stuffing out of Alvechurch before Manning completed his hat-trick on 63 minutes.

Okafor finally opened his account on 67 minutes when converting from close range.

Credit to Alvechurch who kept going  and converted a couple of late consolation goals, Jack Concannon cracking home on 79 minutes before substitute Ross Evans  reacted first to a free kick for a second goal deep into stoppage time.

Halesowen manager Paul Smith admitted his displeasure at Alvechurch's late goals and insisted: "We got sloppy. We should never have conceded two late goals and we didn't take a big enough proportion of our own chances.

"Miracle could have scored a hat-trick himself as he missed a few good chances - but we'll keep working. There's more to come from this side but the main thing is that we're through to the next round and that's all that matters."

Halesowen can expect a tougher task as they have been drawn to host Isthmian League Premier side Enfield Town at The Grove on September 30th.

The North London side are now a fans owed club and currently sit fourth in the Isthmian Premier with an unbeaten record.

This Saturday, Halesowen host Stratford Town in the Southern Premier Central Division before embarking on another local derby the following Tuesday, September 26th when they make the short trip to Bromsgrove Sporting.

Alvechurch, who are now looking for a new manager after parting ways with Ian Long after the defeat, travel to Berkhamsted on Saturday (September 23).
