A Brierley Hill driver who killed a popular Dudley nurse when he ploughed into his motorcycle because he failed to see him approaching has been spared jail.

Christian 'Hugh' Davies was on his way to start his shift at Russells Hall Hospital when Alan Holloway drove into his path and he was thrown from his machine.

It was an "awful" accident that had devastating consequences for family and friends of the 50-year-old staff nurse - Judge John Wait said at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

A security guard has been banned from the roads after crashing his car while over the drink diving limit in Dudley.

Shane Dragonslayer, aged 27, of Birch Avenue, Quarry Bank, was disqualified from driving for 14-months and hit with a £450 court bill after he smashed his red Vauxhall Corse into two other cars while driving home at about 11pm on March 29 in Saltwells Road, Netherton.

Cash was stolen from a nursery and farm shop in Lower Chaddesley, near Kidderminster, this morning.

West Mercia Police officers were alerted at around 4am this morning (Monday April 25) after reports a number of offenders had forced entry to Rowberry's Nursery and Farm Shop.

A driver has died after a serious crash between lorry and a car on a Redditch road this morning (Monday April 25).

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the crash on the Alders Drive at about 8am.

The Bromsgrove Advertiser reports on a cyclist left with critical injuries after his bike crashed at Lydiate Ash.

The man, said to be in his 40s, was riding down Alvechurch Highway yesterday (Sunday April 24) at around 7.30am when the incident happened.

He suffered serious injuries and was today (Monday) reported to be in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
