THREE generations of one family are enjoying great success at a top Dudley karate school.

Grandad Darren Shipley who gained his black belt in March 2008, son Richard Shipley aged 14 who is also a black belt and daughter Rhiannon Shipley, aged eight together with grand daughter Keziah Taylor, aged four, have achieved great success at the Paul Campbell Karate Academy based in Dudley.

Added to that three out of the family compete internationally with the school.

When asked about the family success, Darren said: "The training is hard, but success is gained because we train hard sometimes up to five times a week.

"This is definitely the best club in the area and with international people to train with at the academy our experience grows, I am glad I made the right chose for my children myself some four years ago and more recently for my grand daughter.

"My family love karate and have grown in confidence because of it, and age is no restriction, unless you want it to be."

Rhiannon and Richard won the Irish International Open event in County Lough while Darren came third in the Masters category.
