Mitchell under no illusions of the task ahead

STOURBRIDGE will start to put the record straight this Saturday when they open their National League Two North campaign at home to Harrogate.

Having fallen at the final hurdle last season, Stourbridge spent the close season strengthening their ranks.

Director of Rugby Neil Mitchell is under no illusions of the task ahead and claimed: “People have asked me who is the biggest danger to us this season and I’ve said Stourbridge!

“We caused our own demise last season when we let a 21-point lead slip. Many people have pointed to the Bromsgrove game as our downfall, but there were plenty of examples post- Bromsgrove as well.

“Harrogate will be fired up for the game, there’s no doubt about that. They won a play-off game away at Sutton Coldfield to get here and they’ll be up for the game.”

Stourbridge have prepared well with pre-season victories over Swansea and Wharfedale.

“Fitness and condition-wise, this is the best I’ve had in 10 years and we enter the game against Harrogate with a great deal of expectation on us”.
